VISION
The Vision of SAFCAM (Salesian Formation Centre of Africa-Madagascar) originates in the explicit mandate given by the General Chapter 27 to each region of the congregation to assist Salesians by organising ongoing formation initiatives for Salesians and lay people through the creation of a Centre for Ongoing Formation at Regional level, or by making use of existing Centres in other Regions.
As of the 31st December 2017, statistics showed that the Africa-Madagascar Region of the Salesian Congregation consisted of 10.37% of the SDBs in the world, and of 22.32 % of confreres in initial formation. Thus the quality of the lifelong formation of this Region will influence in a very significant way the future of the entire Congregation.
